Illinois Appointment Renewals for 2014

Key Information:

In 2014 Illinois will again process all appointment renewals electronically through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).

  • Appointment renewal date is November 1st, 2014.
  • Appointment renewals are only for the Limited Lines Producer license class.
  • Appointment renewals will be electronically processed through NIPR.
  • Only appointments for producers with active licenses on PDB will be renewed.
  • Appointment Renewal Invoices and the list of appointment renewals due will be available on the NIPR website beginning 8:00 AM Central Time, November 1st, 2014 through 4:00 PM Central Time December 31st, 2014. NIPR website link is: www.nipr.com.
  • Appointment terminations can only be processed for appointments that are shown as active on the PDB at the time the termination transaction is sent to NIPR.
  • NIPR will turn off appointments on October 22nd, 2014 at 4:00 PM Central Time.  Appointments will be turned back on November 1st, 2014 at 8:00 AM Central Time. Transactions submitted during this time will be held in AV status and processed on November 1st, 2014.
  • Termination requests for individual appointments that are not to be renewed must be reflected on PDB before 4:00 PM Central Time on October 21st, 2014.
  • NIPR will turn off terminations on October 17th, 2014 at 4:00 PM Central Time. Terminations will be turned back on November 1st, 2014 at 8:00 AM Central Time. Transactions submitted during this time will be held in AV status and processed on November 1st, 2014.
  • Appointments added on or after October 24th, 2014 will still need to be renewed in 2014, but the invoice will not be available until December 19th, 2014. If a company pays for their invoice before December 19th, but still adds appointments after October 24th, the company will need to pay the state directly for the additional appointments.  If the company has not paid for their invoice before December 19th, the updated invoice will include all appointments up until December 15th, 2014.
  • Appointments for the Limited Lines Producer license class will not be available between December 17th, 2014 and January 2, 2015. Transactions submitted during this time will not be held in AV status and will be declined.
  • If appointment renewal invoices are not paid before 4:00pm Central Time on December 31st, 2014, the appointment and Producers Limited Lines License will be cancelled. If this occurs, a new license application and appointment must be submitted after January 2nd, 2015.
  • Appointment Renewal and NIPR processing fees are non-refundable.
  • Please contact Illinois Department of Insurance at DOI.Licensing@illinois.gov if you have a dispute regarding a specific appointment and documentation to verify you previously terminated the appointment. Disputes must be resolved prior to October 22nd, 2014.
  • By using NIPR's Electronic Appointment Renewals, you can be assured that the NIPR invoice will be updated as paid, and the transactions to renew will be forwarded to the state within 24 business hours.

Both of these applications are available to NIPR Subscribers. If you are not a subscriber or need to verify that you are subscribed to these products, please contact NIPR at (816) 783-8467 or marketing@nipr.com for subscription information. You may also utilize the services of an NIPR Authorized Business Partner http://www.nipr.com/general/business-partners.htm.
