Attention Montana renewal applicants: There is currently a technical issue where the renewal application may be pulling an old MT license up for renewal when your current license is not yet eligible for renewal. Your license renewal eligibility is based off your CE Renewal Date. Please check the MT license number being populated on the license application or the application will be declined.
Attention Alaska applicants: Effective immediately, the Alaska Division of Insurance has implemented on online process through our website that allows individuals and business entities (firms) to access and print their own license certificate, at no cost, from the convenience of a personal computer.
ANY person that filed an application request after May 11, 2011 that resulted in a issuance of a new or a change to an existing license will be able to view and print their license certificate online at http://www.commerce.alaska.gov/insurance/apps/PrintLicense/PrintLicenselogin.aspx Licensees that have a valid email address will receive electronic notification that their request has been processed and the new license certificate may be accessed and printed online. For licensees that do not have a valid email address, the division will continue to print and mail a license certificate.
Attention Oklahoma Applicants: Due to Conversion to State Based Systems, starting Wednesday, June 1st, at 6AM CDT, the Non-Resident Renewal application will be shut off for Oklahoma. This application is tentatively scheduled to be turned back on at 8AM CDT on June 20th.
Attention Maryland Residents: When entering license number on NIPR applications, please do not include the prefix/Alpha characters (example RPI)or the leading zeros. Here is example 9998989 of what it should look like.
West Virginia Renewals: Your West Virginia license number has been changed to your National Producer Number (NPN). If you do not know your NPN, you can find it using the National Producer Number (NPN) Access application (https://pdb.nipr.com/html/PacNpnSearch.html). This link is also located on the bottom, left-hand corner of the NIPR home page (www.nipr.com). Please remove any leading zeros from the NPN.
Attention Non-resident North Carolina Business Entities: The NPN information listed on the mailed NC notification to business entities was incorrect and should not be used to complete the NIPR renewal application. For the North Carolina non-resident business entities renewals – the business entity license number is the business entity license number in their resident state.
Attention Resident North Carolina Producers: North Carolina uses your national producer number (NPN)as your license number. You may be required to provide your NPN to perform electronic processes through NIPR based on this transition and other states' business rules. If you do not know your NPN, you may access this information at the following link: https://pdb.nipr.com/html/PacNpnSearch.html
NC Renewals: If you are applying to renew a NC resident
license for an individual, the license number and NPN are identical (do
not use leading zeros on the license number). If you are applying to
renew a license for a business entity, use the Federal ID (FEIN) number
without the dash. If you receive a message stating you cannot have a
PO box as your business address, this is being displayed in error and
on March 26, 2010 this issue will be resolved. In the meantime, if you
are applying to renew a license for an individual, please go to https://pdb.nipr.com/ACR/SignIn,
correct the address, wait 48 hours, and then renew the license; if
you are renewing a license for a business entity, please contact the
North Carolina licensing department to pay your renewal fee.
Attention Michigan residents: Individual applicants license numbers are their SSN.
Attention Tennessee Resident Applicants: If your TN license number begins with a 0, please do not include the leading zero when entering your license number on the sign-in page. If you include the leading 0, you will not be able to sign-in.
Attention Washington applicants: After your license has been issued but PRIOR to representing a business entity (BE), you must be affiliated. If you enter affiliation data on this application, WA will not use the data. Affiliations must be completed by the BE on the WA website (www.insurance.wa.gov).
Please be aware that NIPR applications may not perform correctly when using Internet Explorer 6 or lower. If you experience an error, please consider upgrading to the supported browsers Internet Explorer 7 or 8 or Mozilla Firefox versions 2 or 3.
Washington non-resident renewal applicants: NIPR is not currently accepting non-resident renewal applications for the state of Washington that include a “Yes” answer to a background question until full implementation is completed on Monday, September 27th. Until that date applications that include a “Yes” answer to a background question will be declined.
Attention Missouri Applicants: MO application fees are NON REFUNDABLE. Avoid these common errors, which result in non-refundable payment of fees.
- Applicant marked the incorrect line of authority when completing the application.
- Applicant applied for an agency license that was already held by the agency.
- Applicant completed two identical applications.
- Applicant applied for a license they are not required to hold.
- Applicant applied for a license they were not qualified to hold.
DE Renewal Applicants: DE license numbers are 7 digits. If you received a renewal notice with a license number that has only 6 digits, please add a 0 to the beginning of your license number when signing in to renew your license.
Attention Illinois licensees: PDB is displaying identical locations for residence, business and mailing addresses for a select number of IL producers and business entities. If you are experiencing this issue and your license is active, you may use the Address Change Request application (https://pdb.nipr.com/ACR/SignIn) to edit the addresses on PDB for no charge. If your license is inactive and you would still like to correct or edit these addresses, you must reinstate your IL license and have it show as active on PDB before using the ACR application to make these changes.
Attention Illinois Business Entity Applicants: Your IL license number has been changed from the entity's FEIN to a number generated by SBS. If you do not know your new license number, you can find it using the following link: https://sbs-il.naic.org/Lion-Web/jsp/sbsreports/AgentLookup.jsp.
Attention Illinois Residents: Your IL license number has been changed

South Carolina producer renewal is by Birth Month. Please do not try to renew/reinstate your SC producer license by completing a new application if your license is inactive for reason Lapse, Denied, Revoked or Suspended. You will need to reinstate your producer license on the South Carolina Department of Insurance's website at www.doi.sc.gov. If you have any questions, please contact the SCDOI at 803-737-6095.
Virginia Applicants: Pursuant to Virginia Administrative Letter 2010-02, www.scc.virginia.gov/division/boi/webpages/boiadministrativeltrs.htm, effective March 15, 2010, Virginia no longer mails printed licenses. You may print your license at www.scc.virginia.gov/division/boi/webpages/boiproducer.htm.
Alabama license numbers will no longer include the beginning alpha character or any leading zeros. Example: "A012345" will be "12345" or "A001234" will be "1234"
Virginia nonresident online renewals for Surplus Lines Broker, Consultant, and Viatical Settlement Broker licenses must be completed April 21, 2010 through June 30, 2010. The online renewal process will be unavailable after June 30, 2010. Producers that fail to renew by June 30, 2010 must apply for a new license online. All other Virginia licenses are perpetual.
ND Business Entities: The North Dakota Insurance Department
has updated all business entity license numbers. The license number
is no longer the same as the FEIN. To find out what the new license
number is, please go to the licensee lookup located at https://sbs-nd.naic.org/Lion-Web/jsp/sbsreports/AgentLookup.jsp.
CT - If an application has already been submitted to renew a CT producer license with a paper renewal form, please DO NOT submit an electronic renewal. Duplicate renewal submissions will delay the renewal of the CT producer license.
DE - NIPR is unable to process Adjuster licensees who are not licensed in their home state. Non-resident Adjusters who are not licensed in their home state are required to submit a hard copy renewal application and forward to the Department along with a check. CO - Effective for producers with an expiration date on or after September 30, 2008, who wish to renew their license, a complete renewal must be received by Pearson Vue no later than the expiration date of your license. This includes the online renewal and fee, and any/all required documents. Failure to do so may result in license suspension, denial, or an imposed fine from the Colorado Division of Insurance.
KY - If licensee pays license renewal prior to appointment, fees will not be refundable.
ALL - The pre-populated addresses shown on this application are from the home state. Per specific state requests, these addresses may not be forwarded in this renewal request. To correct your address and to ensure your license will be sent to the correct address, please click here to utilize our Address Change Request (ACR) application. If you cannot submit the change electronically through ACR, you must contact the home state directly with any address change. Some states provide directions or links to their website that will enable an address change request. If a state has provided that information to NIPR you will find it in the State Specific Rules.
