Important Definitions
Agency Affiliations - Agencies that the individual producer is licensed as an active member of that agency (business entity).
Other - Affiliation is a contract of employment (as a contract employee, not necessarily salaried) between producers (individual producer and an agency).
State Specific Individual Requirements
Every individual applicant for a Nevada resident insurance producer license must meet the following requirements:

• Applicant must meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years of age.
• Applicant must not already have an equivalent license for the requested LOA(s) in the state.
• Applicant must not have an active non-resident license in Nevada.
• Applicant must not have an inactive non-resident license in Nevada.
• Applicant must not hold an active resident license in another state.
• Employment history must show at least five (5) years and be listed in order from current employer back five (5) years with no gaps.
• Applicant must provide business email address on the application.
• At least one address provided on application must be in the state of NV and that address cannot contain a P.O. Box.
• Applicant must pass the required exam for the applicable selected lines.
• Applicant applying for reapplication is exempt from exams as long as they are 1 year or less past expiration. 366 days past expiration, they are no longer exempt.
• Applicants applying for variable contracts must provide FINRA CRD #.
• Applicant with an active license that is 30 days or less past expiration may not apply via Resident Licensing. Applicant must late renew through Resident License Renewals.
• Applicant with a status reason of "Failure to Renew" may reapply/reactivate license through Resident Licensing as long as current date is 31 or more days past expiration and the license is inactive.
• Applicants who are non-citizen must provide a copy of work authorization or green card and must reside in the U.S.
• Producers cannot obtain an Adjuster License if they hold any of the following LOAs on their Producer license:
• Property
• Casualty
• If applicant holds an active Independent Adjuster, Public Adjuster, or Associate Adjuster license, applicant cannot apply for a Producer License with Property or Casualty Lines of Authority.
• Applicant with an active Independent Adjuster, Public Adjuster, or Associate Adjuster license on PDB cannot apply for a Surplus Lines Broker license.
• Applicants who currently hold active Surplus Lines Broker license cannot obtain an Adjuster license.
• Applicant applying for Resident Surplus Lines Broker license must actively hold a Resident Producer license with both Property and Casualty Lines of Authority.
• Applicant is exempt from license exam if they apply within 90 days of cancellation of their former resident state's license.
• All Surplus Lines Broker applications will defer for state review.
• Applicants answering one of the background questions "Yes", with the exception to #4, must print, sign, and date the application prior to submitting to the contact address below.
• For background questions, please use the NIPR attachment warehouse, https://pdb.nipr.com/docMgmt/main.html, to submit your documentation.
• Please note: State fees will not be collected by NIPR (on behalf of NV) when a transaction is declined according to NV business rules. Transaction fees and processing fees will also apply.

Every business entity applicant for a Nevada resident insurance producer license must meet the following requirements:

• Applicant must not already have an equivalent license for the requested LOA(s) in the state.
• Applicant must not have an active non-resident license in Nevada.
• Applicant must not have an inactive non-resident license in Nevada.
• Applicant must not hold an active resident license in another state.
• Applicant must provide business email address on the application.
• At least one address provided on application must be in the state of NV and that address cannot contain a P.O. Box.
• Applicant with an active license that is 30 days or less past expiration may not apply via Resident Licensing. Applicant must late renew through Resident License Renewals

• Corporation
• Partnership
• Sole Proprietorship
• Limited Liability Company (LLC)
• Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)
• Business Entity Producers cannot obtain an Adjuster License if they hold any of the following LOAs on their Producer license:
• Property
• Casualty
• A business entity with an active Independent Adjuster or Public Adjuster license cannot apply for a Surplus Lines Broker license.
• Business Entities that currently hold active Surplus Lines Broker license cannot obtain an Adjuster license.
• At least one DRLP must be provided on application and must have an active resident or non-resident producer license in NV for the equivalent lines of authority for which the business is applying.
• Applicant applying for a Resident Business Entity Adjuster license must list a DRLP that actively holds an Adjuster license in Nevada as a resident or non-resident
• Applicant applying for Res Motor Club Agy must list a DRLP that actively holds a Motor Club license in Nevada as a resident or non-resident.
• Applicant applying for Res Surplus Lines Broker must list a DRLP that actively holds a Surplus Lines Broker license in Nevada as a resident or non-resident.
• Applicants answering one of the background questions "Yes", with the exception to #4, must print, sign, and date the application prior to submitting to the contact address below.

• Applicant must have an equivalent license for the requested LOA(s) in the requested state.

• Licenses with the status of "Voluntary Surrender" or "Cancelled" may not renew their license. Applicants must use Resident Licensing to reapply.
• Licenses over 30 days past the expiration must use Resident Licensing to reapply
• Affiliations with a begin date that is less than 60 days prior to the expiration date of the license is not included on the renewal.
• Applicant must be applying to renew all active lines held on license. No partial renewals are allowed.
• Applicant cannot renew a Res Surplus Lines Broker license if an active Independent Adjuster, Public Adjuster, or Associate Adjuster license exists on PDB.

• Applicants applying for Res Surplus Lines Broker must list a DRLP that actively holds a Surplus Lines Broker license in Nevada as a resident or non-resident.
• Applicants applying for Res Motor Club Agy must list a DRLP that actively holds a Motor Club license in Nevada as a resident or non-resident.
• Applicant applying for a Resident Business Entity Adjuster license must list a DRLP that actively holds an Adjuster license in Nevada as a resident or non-residents.
• Applicant must be applying to renew all active lines held on license. No partial renewals are allowed.
• Applicant cannot renew a Res Surplus Lines Broker license if an active Independent Adjuster or Public Adjuster license exists on PDB.
