MO Resident Licensing State Specific Requirements:

  • An applicant may not apply electronically if a resident license was held in another state within the past 90 days
  • Applicant must provide a residence or business address in the state.
  • Applicant may not reinstate inactive LOA electronically for 365 days following license lapse. During this 365 day period, applicant may reinstate previously held LOA via paper application with MO DOI. After 365 day period, applicants may reinstate previously held LOA via RL application. (MO allows amendments of LOAs not previously held for 365 days after license lapse via RL application.)
  • Applicant must not a have an active nonresident license in the state.
  • Applicant applying for LOA of ‘Life, Variable Contracts’ must hold active resident Life LOA or be applying for Life LOA.
  • Resident Surplus Lines producers must hold an Active Producer License with active Property and Casualty LOAs.
  • At least one Designated/Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must have an active Resident or Non-Resident license in MO.
  • Non citizen must submit work authorization.

MO Resident Renewal State Specific Requirements:

  • Producer is allowed to renew through RLR 90 days prior to expiration date.
  • Applicant must be CE (continuing education ) compliant. Surplus Lines does not require CE
  • Mo does not accept partial renewals electronically. 

*Fees are non-refundable. An applicant may not apply electronically if a resident license was held in another state within the past 90 days.  “Change of residence/home State is not currently being processed in the electronic application.  Contact MO DIFP.”
